Maluku is located between Sulawesi and Papua. The town is relatively small yet lots to explore. The town is known as the spice island of which Portuguese controlled the trade and spread their influence in many aspects of life. Not only exploring the town, but you will also have the chance to visit and stay at the islands around. You will anchor your boat at Saparua and do on shore and off shore excursions. You will also set your feet at Sawai Island for another getaway. Ora Island is the last island to visit for your true escapism.

Itinerary

On arrival at Jakarta Airport, our driver will meet you and transfer to your hotel.

Breakfast at hotel. This morning you will explore this city with your local guide. Discover the vibrant history and cultural diversity of Indonesia’s capital on this Jakarta City Tour. Begin at Kota Tua (Old Town), where Dutch colonial buildings and charming cafés evoke the city’s past as Batavia. Continue to Sunda Kelapa Harbor, the historic port that once welcomed spice traders, where traditional wooden schooners (phinisi) still dock and load goods today. Conclude your journey at the magnificent Istiqlal Mosque, Southeast Asia’s largest mosque, known for its grand architecture and symbol of Indonesia’s religious harmony. This tour offers a perfect blend of heritage, culture, and local life in the heart of Jakarta. In the evening transfer to the airport for flight to Ambon.

Arrive in Ambon, our local guide will meet you and directly xplore the city of Ambon City. First you will visit historical landmark the statue of local heroes Marta Christina Tiahahu. This statue looking over the bay of Ambon. Then you will visit Pintu Kota, literally means the gate to the city. This beach has beautiful view with the kind of rocky and stony beach. You also will visit another famous beach in Ambon. Unlike most beaches in Ambon which has white sand, the sand on Namalatu beach is filled with clean white crushed coral rocks. The sea waves are tending to be quiet with clear water that graded with light bluish water. Next drive up to visit village of Soya. Here you can see King’s of Soya house, the old (refurbished) church and several picturesque of traditional houses. End your trip today by explore the city of Ambon on foot.

Transfer to the harbour then take the fast ferry to Saparua. On arrival we will take you to your hotel with the local transport (non AC). In the afternoon walk around the town and you may visit fort Duurstede. Fort Duurstede is a fortress Dutch heritage and built in 1676. From the top of this 20-feet-height fort, the tourist can see almost the entire Saparua and Nusa Laut Island located on the East side

In the morning you will pack your bags, and leave the luggage behind while we will take you to the harbor then boating to Molana. An uninhabited island with only a guesthouse. You have time to relax, snorkel, have lunch and enjoy the natural surroundings of the island. Boating back to Saparua then we will transfer you to Mahu on the North site of Saparua.

Transfer to the harbour then take the public ferry to Seram. On arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel in Sawai. This pretty village, located at the foot of towering limestone cliffs, is Seram's most popular tourist-destination. Apart from its scenic setting, it offers great accommodation, good snorkelling, birdwatching, and is a possible starting point for treks through the interior.

Today we take a jungle tour along the Salawai River. Nature is wonderful clean, maybe you can see crocodiles sunbathing on the waterfront. It is possible to see the production of Sago on the river bank. In the afternoon there is time for snorkelling (own arrangement)

With a boat, you will go off to Batu Supun. It’s great snorkelling there. A lunch will be taken to the beach and at the end of the day you are back in your guest house again.

Today, we continue by plane to the volcanic island of Ternate and Tidore. That are two little islands west of the larger island Halmahera. The island is dominated by volcano Gamalama. It was once the world’s largest producers of cloves. British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace lived in the nineteenth century in Ternate, where he made his discoveries about the natural selection as the mechanism for evolutionary theory.

Today you will explore this small island. You will visit the black  smith. They made knives from the feathers of trucks. A special sight and sound to experience this.

From the fort Tohula you can see the beautiful coastline. Next visit the market of Tidore, and also the sultan’s palace. Using a Bentor, or motorized tricycle for the transport makes it very special day.

You can drive around the whole of Ternate in one full day. The tour starts at the Portuguese fort Tolukko. From here, the road continues to the lava flow that runs down the sea.

 

The tour continues along the north coast and a small piece of land inwards, where you have a view of the lake of Tolire. From here, you can look from above the crater which forms the lake of Tolire.

 

We are going to make a stop at the beach of Sulamadaha. This black beach is a popular place for a day out for locals.

A bit further on the island you will make a stop at the Lake Laguna. You can walk along the lake. At the beach you have a beautiful view of the islands Maitare, Makian, Tidore and Moti lying behind each other in a row. All with the typical volcanic cone that makes this a unique picture.

Happy Local Family Adventure

Your day begins at a traditional Balinese family compound, where your local host will introduce you to the rhythm of daily village life. From here, you’ll set off on foot toward the riverside, passing through lush rice fields and vibrant tropical greenery.

 

The river you’ll explore is fed by a chain of eleven natural springs, and during your walk, you’ll visit two of them. Along the way, you’ll see the Subak irrigation system in action an ancient water management system that keeps Bali’s rice terraces thriving. You’ll also meet friendly farmers at work and see first-hand how the Balinese live in harmony with nature.

 

As the walk continues, enjoy a refreshing break at the cool springs, perfect for cooling down after exploring. At the final spring, you’re welcome to take a dip and relax in the clear mountain water.

Spiritual Tour

Today you will see the spiritual sight of Bali in depth. The tour will start with creating an offering, called Canang in Bali. This offering will be brought to the temples to ask permission from the gods to enter the temple.

The guide will explain about the offering and the way of making the prayer before you will take the holy bath to purify yourself.

At Gunung Kawi, you will see the beautiful rice fields and the carved façade dating back to the 11th century. They are called the Kings tombs, commemorating the Udayana Kingdom.  The guide will lead you on small rice field paths surrounding the complex.

At Tirta Empul, the guide will take you around the temple with 14 Holy water spouts for purification.

Back to the Foundation, you will be served lunch in the Yayasan café which is run by young people with special needs.
