Kuala Lumpur, or commonly known as KL, is the capital and largest city in Malaysia. The etymology of Kuala Lumpur, means “the muddy confluence”; “Kuala” is the point to rivers join together or an estuary, and “Lumpur” means mud. Within the suggestion on the name Kuala Lumpur was generated, record that the name was given by the tin-miners, looking for new place to extract the precious metal during the early 1800’s, and apparently starting a settlement were today lays Masjid Jamek Mosque, on the confluence of the river Klang and Gombak.
Today Kuala Lumpur is the Cultural, Financial and Economic, with its modern glass-and-steel skyline dominated by the Petronas Twin Towers and the Exchange 106, however still maintaining “alive” its colonial-era landmarks around Chinatown and Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square). This morning, you will proceed on to Taman Negara - one of the world’s oldest rainforest - by shared (SIC) coach. The coach departs at 08.00am from Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur. Please arrange your own transfer to the coach’s departure point.
The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Labu Sentral jetty is approximately 5 hours.
Upon arrival at Labu Sentral jetty, board a motorized wooden longboat for a one-hour boat ride to the resort.
Experience the night jungle walk in one of the oldest rainforests in the world.
Gather at Mutiara Taman Negara lobby at least 15 minutes before starting time. Meet with your nature guide, and after a short briefing start the exciting activity.
During the night jungle walk, keep an eye out for many creatures such as the ingeniously disguised stick insect, the praying mantis and other insect active during the night.
Little mammals and reptiles may also be seen from time to time and depending on the weather.
Remember to bring along a flashlight, to help you while walking on the planked trail. The guide will have one for himself, so don't worry about getting lost. The tour will end at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort lobby.

Explore and hike in one of the world's oldest rainforest; Taman Negara, the largest protected area in Malaysia, spanning 4343 square km.
In the morning, meet with your guide at the lobby for the daily activity, exploring the Malaysian Rainforest.
The hike will be a total of 3.5Km, starting with a leisure walk up to the foothill of Bukit Teresek, and then continuing up to the peak, where you will be able to enjoy the view of the majestic National park.
Descend from the peak, and continue the experience on the Canopy Walk (Closed to Public every Friday) for a bird-eye view of the Rainforest. Hike back to the lodge.
Experience an exciting boat cruise in one of the most picturesque rivers in Taman Negara.
You will be picked up at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort Jetty, and accompanied by an experienced local nature guide, you will cruise up the Tahan River.
Depending on the season, the river can be swallow, and the boat might need a little push from time to time. At one point, the boat cannot take you further and it will dock to a sandbank.
From the sandbank, short walk by the riverbank, to reach a rocky formation of the river where it will be possible to swim. Take a dip on the refreshing water, before your journey back to Kuala Tahan.

Experience the local native tribe settlement.
Cruise the river to the Native settlement, get to know some of the tribe custom and belief and few tricks on how to lit a fire with natural tools or shot the blowpipe, a hunting tool still in use today.
Journey back to the lodge by boat.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Mutiara Taman Negara jetty.
Cross the river with a local taxi boat to Kuala Tahan jetty (at your own expense).
Meet your driver at Kuala Tahan jetty for a transfer to Kuala Besut Jetty (approximately 5 hours), to access the magnificent island of Perhentian.
Catch the speedboat for a 20 minutes ride to Perhentian island.
Check-in at your resort and the rest of the day is free.
