The best time to travel in Borneo is generally throughout the year since rainfall are moderate and on and off during the day, not heavily affecting outdoor activities such as hiking, diving, boat cruises and wildlife spotting. The best for climbing Mount Kinabalu are from February to late November. July to September are considered peak months with the most stable weather, while November to February tends to be wetter, making travel more challenging but offering lush landscapes and fewer tourists for those seeking a quieter experience.
